Coronaviruses normally attack the respiratory system of the human body, thus the symptoms are also related to the respiratory system. This doesn't mean that the symptoms are limited to the respiratory system, the situation becomes worse if left untreated with multi-organ failure.

The most common symptoms observed in a person attacked by coronavirus are as follows:
- Sore throat
- Running nose
- Cough
- Fever
- Chills
- Shortness of breath
- Headache
- Myalgia
- Malaise
In some severe cases, there is rapid deterioration with low oxygen saturation and acute respiratory distress requiring ventilatory support. It is capable of causing death in as many as 10 percent cases.
